  6. Have the patient look down.  With the 
  7. index finger over the lashes on the nasal 
  8. side of the lid, bring the lid up and 
  9. around the lens edge.  As the lid is moved 
  10. around the lens edge, the lid should go 
  11. under the edge of the lens.  The finger 
  12. should be moved all the way around to the 
  13. temporal side.   Do NOT stop with the 
  14. finger in the superior position, keep 
  15. bringing the finger around to the temporal 
  16. side.

  18. If only takes light pressure if done 
  19. correctly.  The lid margin must be kept 
  20. tight against the sclera.

  22. The lens may just fall out of the eye at 
  23. this point.  If it does not, have the 
  24. patient look up and the lens will roll out.
